Biografi

Wawan Septiawan Damanik was born in Silau Malela 21 September 1993. After completing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2014 and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2019, he was interested in joining as a lecturer in mechanical engineering at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara. In 2022, he continued his mechanical engineering doctoral studies at the Bandung Institute of Technology.

His research interest is developing nanostructured surfaces to maintain the heat transfer coefficient during condensation. Surface etching and chemical coating processes are carried out to form low and high-surface energy nanostructures. The aim is to obtain a wettability model compatible with condensation and nucleation process, spectral to electromagnetic waves, and high thermal conductivity. He also has a lot of research on developing solar still desalination.
